Although motherhood is already all consuming, it is the foundation of our own improvement that will allow us to be great mothers to our children. It is the conscious effort to improve oneself by acquiring new skills, knowledge, and behaviors that lead to a more fulfilling life. The journey of self-improvement can be challenging but is ultimately rewarding and beneficial to our children. Let's discuss some ways to improve yourself and achieve your goals.

  1. Set Specific and Realistic Goals

Setting goals is essential in self-improvement. Your goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). Mama

I am Mama now. The shift it triggered in me has been significant. I had been working on myself in the years leading up to having children but actually having them here has propelled my progress. Giving a sense of urgency for me to self-reflect to become intimately aware of my habits, needs, and triggers. To critically observe my upbringing. To reassess my identity and where I had chosen to source it.

I have been listening to hours of audiobooks. I keep one AirPod in throughout the day. I find it interesting what my passive listening will catch. I use the Libby app that gives access to thousands of audio & digital books through local libraries using a library card.

Here are the books I listened to in January & February:
